Phoenix Project

5-month programme with Helix Arts and Sacriston Sure Start, working with a group of women with experience of domestic abuse to develop creative expression through a variety of print techniques.  The group produced printed fabrics, leather belts and jewellery and a children’s ABC 2-colour screen print.  We worked with textile artist Clare Armstrong to turn the fabrics in to items and colourful group bunting. They also produced ‘The Phoenix ABC book’ for their children.  All items will contribute to a resulting exhibition throughout the Sacriston and Chester Le Street areas in an art trail.
